COUNTERLOCKWISE: The Time Traveler at Asakusa KannonTemple

Due to our vivid and overactive imagination, some of us wish to travel in time. Ride in a time machine like Doraemon and go back to the past or explore the future.

However, there is a place I know where the past meets the present.

Be a time traveler like me at the Asakusa Kannon Temple in Japan!

Five-storied Pagoda, built in 942

Various Buddhist temples and statues can be seen.

These 5.45-metre-tall statues represent Niō, the guardian deity of the Buddha.

Although Japan is one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world, they still manage to preserve their old customs and belief as manifested in the temples of Asakusa.
